East-West University

In 2004-2005, a project led by The American University aimed to enhance cooperation between universities in the South Caucasus, Turkey, and neighboring countries. Nine state and private universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey collaborated with the American University Global Peace Center. The partnership proved beneficial for all involved institutions, leading to further cooperation. Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli and Prof. Teimuraz Khurodze established the "East-West Teaching University" in Georgia, with support from businessman PhD Zaza Nishnianidze. The university prioritized the Medical Doctor education program due to the presence of clinics within the university, which contributes to the development of highly qualified medical specialists. With its strong infrastructure, competent academic staff, and modern educational programs, the university is expected to become one of the region's leading institutions.

East-West University

The university is implementing a one-level program of diploma, which is currently quite required around the world. The program was developed by the university academic personnel and representatives of the Medical Education Center of David Tvildiani Medical University. The mentioned medical education center was created in the scope of TEMPUS (currently Erasmus+) project, financed by European Union, the goal of which is to implement the international practice of medical education in Georgia. The group working on the program essentially took into consideration the modern approaches in international practice and the experience obtained in medical education, as a result of which current program was developed.

Our students have all the necessary comfort to acquire and improve their knowledge; University clinics, university buildings, green-yard, terrace, location, library etc.
Guidelines for students of our university are available through the library in the form of printed and electronic textbooks.
The university is fully equipped with modern inventory and hardware.
The University Building and Outdoor Infrastructure are fully adapted to persons with disabilities.

Both theoretical and practical courses are taught by highly qualified specialists with great experience, which are involved in various research and professional activities, along with pedagogic work. This means that the university’s medical faculty students have the opportunity to participate in the development of a new methodology and refine the existing methodology.
